DD(Dad’s Diary)21

My First Deployment Was for (9 Months) In The Pacific Ocean On The USS Merrill  (Since De-Commisioned And Sold To South Korea) , A Destroyer In A Carrier-Group, We Sailed Around The World ,From Our Home Port In San Diego , Mostly In The South-Pacific-Ocean And Saw Just What We Have To Be Grateful For In The US. 1 Of The More Shocking Cultures  Was  Bangladesh Where I Volunteered To Re-Hab An Orphanage , So I Got A Close-Up On The Starving  Country , We Also Saw Plenty Of Lack Of Progress , As They Use Ox Pulled Carts , And Very Few Motorized Vehicles , And Roads Were All Dirt , Some Smoother Than Others. And A/C Is Rather Scarce There , So Most Meat Shops Are Open-Air, And Since The Climate There Is Rather Warm , It Goes Without Saying That The Meat Goes Bad Quickly , And We All Know How That Smells!

I Have Plenty More To Say Next Time…
