DD(Dad’s Diary) 35

After 8 Years in Memphis , I was up for orders for sea-duty , and after several months of “negotiating?” , sort of , as the navy sends you where they need you. I got orders to HC-2 in Norfolk , where my brother was stationed , so he helped me find a trailer-park for my trailer. My Home was towed ,  and me and my son drove separately , my enlistment date was in december , so I was already used to the cool-weather , but me and  my young son were rather cramped in our small Suzuki-Swift. And the many Hotel stops on the road with a young boy and a single dad was quite the adventure for sure. Just the road trip was a story in itself. After reaching Virginia it took a few weeks for the trailer to get tied-down and settled in the new park , but we were already used to our “home” in the other state. The month off on leave gave us plenty of time to get used yo out new neighborhood. I reported  to HC-2 @ NAS-Norfolk and another chapter for us was just begging.

Plenty more next time…
