DD(Dad’s Diary) (Just to be sure not to be confused with the Naval Designation for a Naval Destroyer!)90

This is to mark my Naval Anniversery of sorts! 12-13-1983 marked day one for me ,after several weeks in the Temporary Barracks , shots ,indoctrination , and then some… of sorts, ! My actual ┬áNaval Service date began when all the Administative stuff was done first. I had to wait a few weeks for the rest of my basic training class to fill up , When enough sailors showed up we began as Company( C-041). We lived on the 3rd floor , so we got plenty of exercise running up and down the stairs! Safe to say our legs got quite the workout each day! And Lollygagging or Slowing down was no Option!;) My main Instuctor was a surface Navy type , but his co instructor was an aviation Master Chief , and as I blogged in the past , we were all the same until the end when we wore our crackerjack uniforms when we Graduated , and most sailors wore red stripes under their Specialty and Rank , so Me and just a few in my class wore Green stripes for Aviation;)

More to come…
