DD(Dad’s Diary) 86 , Instructor Duty Part 1…

After mySea duty in California , I went to N.A.T.T.C(Naval Air Technical Training Command)in Millington Tennessee{@NAS(Naval Air Station)Memphis} for more training , as I said in past blogs , After my advanced avionics course , I got orders to the AE(Aviation Electrical Maintenance)-A-1 School where I was once An E-1 , so going back as an E-5 was a great experience for me as an Instructor. Handling white chalk was no issue in the Summer , when we wore Dress Whites , but in the winter months we wore dress Blues , so we had to be extra careful ! There is so much to share on that tour , so there will be a part 2 at least!

“Swim Call” DD(Dad’s Diary) 85

¬†This is just a “break” of sorts from the usual military stuff! When we were deployed on naval ships , The ocean looked refreshing sometimes (especially when the weather was warmer , or hot!) , so when we were given the chance to cool off , after several months of sailing , we enjoyed the break, and the ships I was on were small enough , and close enough to the surface of the ocean , they draped a cargo net to keep us safe from the ocean fish , and kept us all together ¬† , and the navy divers swam under us to keep us safe ! It was just a small break , but welcomed for sure! The real “adventures” were back on board ship , so more next time…
