While I Was At HSL-35 In California , Both Of My 9 Month Deployments Were In The Pacific-Ocean , Where We Visited Many Foreign Ports. All Made The U.S. Even Better Than I Once Thought They Were.  One Of The Most Patriotic Lands We Visited Had To Be Pearl-Harbor. At The Time The NAVY Had A Program For Re-Enlisting At The Site Of My Choice , So I Used The Arizona-Memorial For Mine. The H-2 Could Only Hold A Few Troops , So Me And A Few Others Were Flown To  The Monument , 1 Of The Pilot’s Was My Officer-In-Charge , So He Administered The Oath  For 4 More Years. The Place Still Had Oil Seeping  To The Surface From The Attack In 1941.  A Reminder Of Just How Much History The Port Holds.

Much More To Come…

When I Went To Sea On The USS-Merrill (DD-976) , It Was 1  Of The Spruence-Class  Destroyer Ships. So Now I Better Know Just Who Admiral-Spruence Was! Even Though He Was A “Black-Shoe” Sailor , Of The Surface Type , As Opposed To The “Brown-Shoe” Aviation Types. He Paved The Way For Folks Like Me , Not Only Did He Have To Deal With The World In The Early Days , The Attack On Pearl-Harbor , Was His Just Another View Of Just How Some Folks Hate The U.S.A  . He Planned Some Of The D-Day Landings , So Our Foes Got A Taste Of Our Mite!
